Refueling Teachers and Staff: A Perfect Start on Election Day

Why Election Day Matters for Educators

Election Day is a significant occasion, not just for the democratic process but also for educators and school staff. It represents a moment to engage with the community and take a stance on issues vital to education. Thus, this day was perfect for a Refuel event to ensure that teachers and staff are energized! VSPA is excited to have budget during the 2024-2025 school year for Refuel the Teachers & Staff events, to lessen the expectations for parents to contribute throughout the year. In doing so, we not only support the teachers and staff, but also our parent community. We do know that some parents enjoy dropping off items too so that option will continue to be available.

The Community Comes Together

Engaging the community during VSPA Refuel events strengthens school-community ties. For this Refuel we were able to Involve local business, First Watch at 13325 Westheimer, by purchasing yogurt granola cups and they in turn, were able to provide a discount as well as sponsor coffee and mini muffins for the teachers and staff. Thank you, First Watch! Our parents donated some food items and also were available for set-up and clean up. Thank you for all food contributions and to our fabulous volunteers in each of the Divisions.

In conclusion, Refuel the Teachers and Staff on Election Day shows VSPA support for our educators and school staff. VSPA was happy to make sure our educators feel supported and ready to guide their students, particularly on such an essential day!

The next Refuel the Teachers will be a Valentine's theme held on Tuesday, February 4th. If you would like to get involved to help out with this event or others, please reach out to volunteers@myvspa.org.
